Getting Around
2022 Beyond Adopteen: Adult Adoptee Retreat will be hosted at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Bremerton, WA, just across the Sound from Seattle, WA.
Attendees flying into Seattle (SeaTac International Airport) can catch the SoundTransit Link Light Rail (1 Line Northgate – 30 minutes – $3) to Pioneer Square and walk to the Seattle Ferry Terminal for the Seattle/Bremerton Fast Ferry (Pier 54 – 30 minutes – $10 cash). After a beautiful ride across the Sound, Fairfield Inn & Suites is just 4 blocks north of Bremerton Ferry Terminal.

Beyond Adopteen Adult Adopteen Retreat is a build-your-own-adventure type retreat. Lucky for us, we are burdened with an overabundance of things to explore in and around Seattle and Bremerton. Throughout the Retreat, there will be opportunities to sign up for various, optional group excursions (some in the morning, some in the afternoon) and some excursions may overlap with workshop times.
The bulk of Beyond Adopteen’s Adult Adoptee Retreat workshops and keynotes will run on Saturday, with excursions and conversation/networking opportunities scattered throughout the weekend. However, no programming is mandatory. We are here for community and a chance to recharge our batteries. Whatever amount of “official” programming you want to participate in is up to you, but we hope that you are inspired to embrace the experience as much as possible.
The short answer: You will have plenty of time to eat the foods you want to eat and check off at least three of the top Seattle to-do items on your list.
You will definitely not be alone and you will definitely be able to meet new people! Even with our loose schedule structure, this entire retreat is specifically intended to be a care-free, easy, and fun opportunity for the adult adoptee community to meet each other and build new connections! There will be group excursions and conversation/networking opportunities throughout the weekend that will make it arguably impossible to leave without new friends.
You are not required to stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites. We love vacation homes and friend reunions and know that they are often more budget-friendly options than hotels. Please feel free to choose and book whatever accommodations are most comfortable for you!
